▸ The couple visited North Macedonia and were captivated by its natural beauty and cultural richness.

▸ They explored the capital city, Skopje, with its numerous statues and historical sites, such as the Memorial House of Mother Theresa of Calcutta and the Archaeological Museum.

▸ In Mavrovo, a village in western North Macedonia, they enjoyed breathtaking views of the lake and mountains in the national park, swam in Mavrovo Lake, and visited the immersed St Nicholas Church.

▸ They embarked on a hitchhiking adventure in Mavrovo and were pleasantly surprised when a Macedonian driver living in their home country, Malta, picked them up.

▸ They continued their journey to Struga, where they stayed in a treehouse and explored Lake Ohrid, the Old Bazaar, and nearby attractions like the Bridge of Wishes, the Bay of Bones, and the Monastery of St. Naum. They created new friendships and were unwilling to leave North Macedonia, departing for Albania with a positive hitchhiking experience.
